Mission Forum

August 11 (10:00am)

Please join us next Sunday in the Sanctuary between services for a mission forum highlighting recent Short-Term Mission Projects. Our High School Youth Team will share about their experience in Philadelphia in July. Sue Ellen and Jason Kinser will share about their trip to Burma in June to visit the House family and participate in the opening of the Kalay International Education Center with Farthest Corners.

 

Nursery, Sunday School, & Jr. Church Training

We will hold our annual training & preparation session for our Sunday morning children & youth volunteers. Look for an email with more detailed info.

 

Family Ministry Parent Meeting

August 25 (9:45-10:45am)

Join us as we kick off a new school year! We’ll meet in the fellowship hall and discuss ministry plans for this year and other resources for families, youth, and children.

 

Chancel Choir Rehearsals begin August 28

(7:15-8:45pm)

Thursday Women’s Bible Study

Church Picnic at Windy Knoll Farm

September 8 (4:00pm)

Join us for our annual church picnic offsite at Windy Knoll Farm (11602 Kettle Run Road, Nokesville). We’ll provide the burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Just bring a side dish or dessert to share. Mission Opportunities

Volunteers Needed for YFT’s Country Fair, October 5

We are looking for youth and adult volunteers at the fair from 10:30am to 5:00pm. You can work all day or in shifts of three hours. Interested? Contact Ray Whitelock at 703.743.2905 or orwhitelok@aol.com.

Collection bins for all items are in the lobby or across from the church office.

SERVE is in currently in need of items for their food bank, including canned meats, vegetables, and fruits; pasta, potatoes, and rice; individually packed snacks; and fresh vegetables from local gardens.

The Fauquier Family Shelter continues to need a large supply of paper towels because the shelter is full. Residents/staff use them daily to ensure a clean, sanitary environment. Questions? Contact Carol Clegg at cclegg6@icloud.com.

Our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project will take place again this fall. We are currently collecting donations of school supplies, shorts and t-shirts, flip flops or plastic shoes, sunglasses, games, dolls and any other shoebox items (no foods or liquids).
