Children's Ministry

It is a joy and privilege to share the love of Christ with the children at Greenwich. We do recognize and believe that a child’s spiritual development does not happen at church, but with their families in their home. Our mission is to partner with families and supplement what is done in the home by laying down a spiritual foundation, that with God’s help will lead a child to become a follower of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School (9:45am)

Sunday school, the centerpiece of children’s ministry, is offered at 9:45am for children ages three years through fifth grade. Children first join their families in the Sanctuary as we gather for worship at 9:30 am. The children experience worship through singing, prayer and listening to a children's sermon before leaving to go to Sunday school.

Our Faith Garden Sunday School (preschoolers) grow in their faith through Bible lessons, music, prayer and giving. Using the Hands on Bible curriculum, children get to do activities and experience the scriptures while building their relationship with Jesus in a real and relevant way.

The children of Faith Village Sunday School (elementary grades K-5) join together for a dynamic Sunday school using the Workshop Rotation Model. The children learn one Bible story for four weeks, rotating to various workshops and learning more and more about God’s love. Workshops include: Thou Art (arts and crafts), Holywood (drama and video), Moved by the Spirit (games), Once Upon a Time (story), and Our Daily Bread (cooking). Each class is staffed with loving volunteer members of our congregation. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in the Christian education of their children. There are many opportunities within the Children’s Ministry to serve and learn along side your children. You will be amazed at how much you will learn from the children!

Nursery Care (8:00, 9:30 & 11:00 services)

Our nursery ministry provides safe, secure and loving care for children ranging in age from infant through preschool age. We provide a separate infant room, that is a safe, quiet area for our littlest ones. Our nursery is staffed each Sunday with a Nursery Supervisor along with loving, caring volunteers from within our church family to care for the children while parents attend worship or Sunday school. We provide pagers for parents while their child is in the nursery so that they can be assured we can contact them anytime duing the service or class.

Children’s Hand Bell Choir

The Children's Hand bell Choir rehearses on Sundays at 8:50am. This choir welcomes all children between 1st and 6th grades, and performs several times a year at the 11:00 service. Our Director of Music Ministries, Lon Quinones, directs this choir.

Christian Connection Group

This is a service and fellowship group for 4^th/5^th graders. They meet once a month- 3^rd Sunday of each month.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, we offer a Family Vacation Bible School where we extend the love of Christ to those who have not yet experienced the love of Jesus Christ, while challenging the believing children to a deeper walk of faith. Our VBS program is held each evening, the last week of June.

Third Grade Bible Presentation

Each fall, the Christian Education committee presents Bibles to each of the current 3^rd grade students in the congregation. This a special milestone for the children in the church and an important use of God’s Word shared with each child as they continue to grow in their faith journey.
