Children's Ministry

"We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done."
Psalm 78:4

It is a joy and privilege to share the love of Christ with the children at Greenwich. We believe that a child’s spiritual development does not happen primarily at church, but with their families in their home. So or mission is to partner with families and supplement what is done in the home by laying down a spiritual foundation, that with God’s help will lead a child to become a follower of Jesus Christ.

Nursery Care (8:45 Worship Service, 9:45 Sunday school & 11:00 Worship Service)

Our nursery ministry provides safe, secure and loving care for children ranging in age from infant through preschool age. We provide an infant room, a toddler room and a preschool age room to accomodate ages and provide areas that are safe, quiet for our littlest ones.  Our nursery is staffed each Sunday with a Nursery Supervisor along with loving, caring volunteers from within our church family to care for the children while parents attend worship or Sunday school. We provide pagers for parents while their child is in the nursery so that they can be assured we can contact them anytime duing the service or class.

Sunday School (9:45am)

Sunday school, the centerpiece of learning for our family ministry, is offered at 9:45am for children ages three years and up as part of our Family Fellowship.

  • Preschool through 1st grade Sunday school meet in the Children's Wing of the Main Building
  • 2nd through 5th grades meet in the Education Building (begin in the Fellowship Hall).
  • Middle School & High School Classes meet in the Education Building (begin in the Fellowship Hall).
  • Parents & Adults meet in the Fellowship Hall after younger students dismiss.

Junior Church

Children in preschool through 3rd grade have the option of attending our Junior Church program, following the children’s blessing during the worship service.  The children learn elements of worship, scripture memory, music, and a simple Bible lesson using The Jesus Storybook Bible curriculum.

Notes:

  • If your child goes to Jr Church at the 8:45am worship service, they will be shepherded to their Sunday school class (so no need to pick them up in between church & Sunday school!).
  • Junior Church is not held the first Sunday of each month as all school-age children remain in the service to celebrate communion with their family.

Family potlucks & kid's club

Each month on the first Sunday, we gather for a church family potluck. After dinner, parents gather for equipping and encouragement and kids gather for a fun kids club to play games & do service projects together. Times & activities vary from month to month!
