Adult Discipleship

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18

Discipleship is the inward process of character formation for every Christian. Through understanding the Bible, the Word of God, we grow in our knowledge of God and learn to follow him. Because discipleship is an ongoing process, we encourage everyone to find a Bible study, Sunday school class, or other group where we can grow together in faith and obedience.

Sunday School Classes 9:30-10:30am

Sojourners seeks to learn and grow together through discussion of thought-provoking Christian books; currently studying “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis. Sojourners meets in the library on the second floor of the education building. For more information, contact Linda Spittle, 703-754-7820, ayardnut@verizon.net.

The Sanctuary Class highlights major themes of Christian faith and character formation. Currently, they are studying “Great Truths of the Bible” by Alan Stringfellow. The class meets in the fellowship hall, led by Paul Ruby, 703-753-1492, ezygoin50@yahoo.com.

Pastor’s Bible Study Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00pm
Following the “Great Commission” and the call to teach all people to obey the commands of Jesus, we will focus on the things Jesus taught in the Gospels that he clearly meant to be obeyed.  The study will center on an outline and presentation by Pastor Meeks with some discussion.  The study is open to all ages — come when you are able and bring your Bible!

Foundations Courses
Foundations is a great way for the Greenwich community to study some essential truths of the Christian faith and build a foundation for growth and understanding. Taught by the pastors and other teachers from within the church, topics include Understanding the Bible, Prayer & Relationship with God, Spiritual Gifts & Following God, Good News, Christian Character, & Who God Is. For more information, contact Associate Pastor Eric Beckman, 703-209-7125, ebeckman@greenwichpres.org.

Women’s Ministries
At Greenwich there are many opportunities specifically for women to grow in faith and fellowship with one another. Some of the groups included here are designed for Bible Study and character formation for women. Others are simple opportunities to meet and build community with other women. We encourage everyone to find places that fit your schedule and help you to grow.

The men’s Bible study is beginning a study of the book of Esther.    Questions?  Contact Paul Ruby at ezygoin50@yahoo.com.
