Stewardship

"See that you also excel in this grace of giving." 2 Corinthians 8:7

Stewardship is part of life at Greenwich Presbyterian Church. But it does not equate just to a pledge to give a certain amount of money during the year. It is a commitment to serve God with the abundant gifts that we receive. We live in the "land of plenty", and the easiest thing that we can give is financial support for God's work. Stewardship at Greenwich is more about giving of yourself, your time, your talents. But it's not just serving as a church officer, or singing in the choir, or teaching in Sunday School. Those are obviously important ways that we give to the church. It is also giving care and support and love to each other. It is individuals sitting on committees and doing the work behind the scenes. It is preparing food and cleaning up and working at fund raisers. It is a smile and a handshake and a hug. It is participating in Missions and Worship and Ministries. It is being good stewards of the earth that God has given us as Duane reminds us every year around Earth Day. It's growing some vegetables for those less fortunate in our community. It's hanging caps and mittens on a special tree at Christmas time to be distributed to those without. It's spending time praying for our missionaries and members of the congregation. It is participating in the life of the church!

Stewardship at Greenwich is not just "sending a check". It means sending yourself whenever and however you can!
