Men's Ministry

"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend" Proverbs 27:17

Purpose:  We wish to encourage and equip men in the practical development of spiritual attributes in order to increase the effectiveness of their Christian witness at church, at home, and in the marketplace.

Background:  In September of 2001, the men of Greenwich Presbyterian Church launched a new ministry focused on the Word of God. We gather every Friday morning at 6:30 am for a fifteen-minute period of fellowship over coffee and pastries. One of the men then presents a fifteen-minute devotion, focusing on some issue that is pertinent to our witness as Christian men in today's culture. Another one of the men then leads a thirty-minute study and discussion of the Scriptures, focusing on issues of particular relevance to men.

Goal:  We pray that we will work in cooperation with our pastor and other teaching ministries in our church to instill a deep and abiding love of Scripture in all the men of the church. We also pray that we will continue to grow in our spiritual commitment to one another and to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Invitation:  Men who faithfully attend this time of study and devotion affirm that it has been a rich blessing to seek the counsel of God, through the study of His Holy Word, in the company of like-minded men. We encourage and invite all men who are hungry for spiritual growth to join us as often as possible for this time of study and devotion on Friday mornings.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work " 2 Timothy 3:16-17
