Staff Opening

Volunteer Ministry Coordinator

With the Cooper family planning to return to Kansas this summer, the Personnel Committee regrets to announce the resignation of Paula Cooper as our Volunteer Ministry Coordinator effective June 30.  Paula has served the Greenwich church family with grace and faithfulness for nearly two years.   We wish you well!

The Session would like to see this important staff position filled by a member or friend of the church who is interested in offering their time and energies as a service to the church.

• The Volunteer Ministry Coordinator will be an unpaid part-time staff position (approx. 10 hrs/wk) and will serve as the “point person” for helping members and friends of the church find a place of active service within the many ministries that depend upon volunteers. 

• Responsibilities for this position include maintaining and publicizing a current list of volunteer opportunities, establishing a system of training volunteers, and connecting volunteers with ministry opportunities. 

If you or someone you know may have an interest in this position, please submit your resume to the church office by June 10th and a member of the Personnel Committee will be in touch to schedule an interview.

VBS is Coming Soon!!

Please visit our registration table this Sunday to register for this year’s Power Lab VBS!  As always, VBS is open to kids ages 3 through 5^th grade. 

An adult class will take place during this year’s VBS.

Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship

Congratulations!  Congratulations to Jo and Jason West on the birth of Dashiell Edward West, born June 5^th, at 2:22pm.  Dashiell joins siblings Liam and Cecily.

Youth Confirmation Class Deadline is Tuesday, June 10th — Our confirmation class will be offered June 16-20, from 9:30am to lunch.  Open to all youth (rising 6th graders and up) interested in what it means to be an adult member of the church.  To register, please contact the church office at office@greenwichpres.org or 703.754.7933. 

Second Saturday Group — Join us on June 14th, at 5:00pm, here at Greenwich as we have an old fashioned campstyle picnic!  Our menu includes:  BBQ pork, beef and chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and ice cream for dessert.  Cost is $3.50 per person.  RSVP by June 9th to Kay Hinegardner at 703.743.2192 or Kaki White at 571.238.8179.

Greenwich Golf Outing — Thursday, June 19th, at the Prince William Golf Course.  We have tee times beginning at 8:00am.  Cost is $40/person with optional $35 (or more!) additional as fundraiser for Youth Summer Mission teams.  All ages and skill levels welcome!  Please contact church office to register at office@greenwichpres.org or 703.754.7933.

June Committee Night — Just a reminder that this month’s Committee Night will take place this Tuesday, June 10th.  Also, join us from 6:00pm to 6:45pm for Dinner & Discussion — a great opportunity for fellowship and spiritual growth in the leadership of Greenwich.  This month, we’ll focus on what it means that God is a “Trinity.”  It will be an informal discussion over dinner this Tuesday for anyone who is able to come.  Bring your own dinner and we’ll begin at 6:00pm.

Youth Mission Trip — If you are interested in the Mississippi mission trip (Senior Highs only), please meet after the 11:00 service this Sunday, June 8^th, in the Senior High room for 15 minutes.

SERVE — Our mission partner for the month of June is SERVE.  As always, all items are welcomed.  This month’s specific needs include:  pasta, pasta sauce, canned meats, paper towels, toilet tissue, and grocery store plastic bags.
