“The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Romans 13:9-10

Global Day of Prayer for Burma, Sunday, March 9, 2008 — Last August, protests in Burma brought much needed global attention to the oppression and injustice facing the people there. Justice and peace in Burma;

Unity and reconciliation between all ethnic groups and people in Burma;

Freedom for all political prisoners, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi;

The security, food and medical supplies needed for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) in Burma;

The refugees from Burma (in Thailand, Bangladesh, India and other countries) to have hope they will return to their homes;

The migrant workers from Burma to be given fair treatment in neighboring countries;

The Burma Army and its dictators to open their hearts to God’s love and turn from the atrocities they commit;

For the message of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed and understood among the unreached people of Burma

From 4-5pm on Sunday, March 9th, at Greenwich Presbyterian Church, there will be an hour of prayer for Burma and for the ministry of Farthest Corners, www.farthestcorners.org.

“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”  He called a little child and had him stand among them.  And he said:  “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 18:1-4
