Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship
Spiritual Gifts Class — In glorifying
God we serve Him using the special spiritual gifts we possess. Join us
for five weeks, starting Wednesday, January 16th (dinner at 5:30, class from 6:00
to 7:00), as you discover the spiritual gifts God has given you. To
register for the class (deadline to register is January 15th), or for more
information, contact the office at 703.754.7933 or
office@greenwichpres.org. Childcare is available on request.
Annual Report — All
committees and organizations compiling a brief year-end report for inclusion in
our 2007 Annual Report, can submit their reports to the church office at
office@greenwichchurch.org. The deadline for submitting the reports is January
20, 2008. These reports will be shared at the Annual Winter
Congregational Meeting on Sunday, February 10th at 6:00pm.
New Members Class — Our next new membership class will begin on Sunday, February 17th at
6:00pm. If interested in attending, or for more information, contact the
office at 703.754.7933 or office@greenwichpres.org.
Quilting — Join us at the
church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 9:30am to 12:00pm to sit
and sew or learn the basics of quilt making. Contact Lisa House at
bikelshouse@aol.com or 703.594.2308 for more information.
Annual Congregational Meeting - The Session has called our annual winter congregational meeting to
be held on Sunday, February 10th at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall. The
purpose of the meeting is to receive annual reports from our ministry areas, to
approve recommended changes to Pastor’s terms of call, and to provide a time of
open conversation on church life.

Child Protection Training — We are offering Child Protection Training on Wednesday, January 23rd from
7:00 to 8:30pm. Childcare is available. For more information,

Youth Laser Tag — All Jr. and Sr. Highs are invited! Join us on January 27th.
Meet at 2:15pm in Fellowship Hall. Cost is $10 per person. You must
RSVP, so email Chasity at youth@greenwich.org ASAP. There are only 25
spots available.
Saturday Sew and Soup — Attention all quilters! Join us on February 2nd from 9:00am to
3:00pm in Fellowship Hall. This is a chance to work on all the projects
that you’ve been putting off. You must bring: sewing machines,
extension cords, cutting materials, irons and ironing boards, and your project
materials. If you’ll be attending, please contact Lisa House at
bikelshouse@aol.com or 703.594.2308.
Book Swap — This February,
we will hold our first ever Book Swap. On February 10 and 17th, children
and adults can bring in used (but in good shape) books to the church and
receive a ticket for each book given. On Sunday, February 24th, the
tickets can be used to “buy” other books at the Book Swap. If you have
questions, or would like to volunteer to help, contact Joy Yates at
703.754.7933.
Piano Recital — Please
join us in the Sanctuary on Saturday, February 2nd, at 7:00pm, for a piano
recital by Louise Lyon (Margo Truslow’s sister). A reception will
follow. Childcare is provided.
Preschool Registration — The preschool is now accepting registrations for the 2008-2009 school
year. Children should be three years of age by September 30th. For
information, contact Marian Rood at 703.754.7933 or
preschool@greenwichpres.org.
Collection for CareNet — During the month of January we will be collecting for CareNet. They
are in need of clothing, diapers, baby wipes, blankets, etc. Items can be
placed in the collection bin in Fellowship
Hall.
Thank You! — To the very special people who worked with me at the Salvation Army
Stocking Stuffing and Angel Tree Distribution. It is a wonderful
experience to share our love through helping make Christmas happy for those in
need, especially during the week before Christmas. My thanks go to Jeanne
and Bob Edwards, Pat and Leon Eggers, Angela and Jim Neal, Lisa House, Jim
Pittman, Helen Taylor, Barbara Thomas, and Ann Winn. With many
