Christmas Eve Services

 

You are cordially invited to attend one of our Christmas Eve Services, Monday, December 24, 2007.

 

5:30 pm          This worship service is oriented for families with younger children, as we enjoy this year’s Christmas Pageant presented by the Faith Village Chorale. Nursery will be provided.  As part of the Children's program, we are having a birthday party for baby Jesus immediately following this service. Any donations of baby gifts brought will be given to CareNet.

 

7:30pm                       This is a traditional worship service and the Chancel Choir will be singing.  Nursery will be provided.

11:00pm         This is a service of Christmas carols, candlelight and communion.

Snow Team Members Needed!

 

Willing to help us “shovel out” when the snow hits?  Then, we’d love to have you join our Snow Team.

 

We especially need people willing to help out on Sunday mornings.

Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship

 

Faith Village Chorale — The Faith Village Chorale children’s choir will present their Christmas Pageant at the 5:30pm service on Christmas Eve.

 

Mitten Tree – The Mitten Tree is up!  We are collecting mittens, scarves, gloves or socks.  The donated items will be given to SERVE and the Fauquier Family Shelter.

 

Pictorial Directory — DON’T REMAIN FACELESS!  We’ll be taking pictures for the Greenwich pictorial directory on Sunday, January 6th, and Sunday, January 13th.  If we don't have your picture for the directory, or you’d like to update the one we have visit us in Fellowship Hall between services.

 

Birthday Party for Jesus — Please join us in Fellowship Hall after the 5:30pm service on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birthday of Christ.  You can bring donations of baby gifts, i.e., clothing, diapers, etc.  These will be given to CareNet. 

 

Snow Patrol — Winter is coming!  We have volunteer Snow Patrol captains for each day of the week to shovel the sidewalks.  If you are interested in helping by wielding a snow shovel, spreading ice melt, or running the snow blower, please contact Paula Cooper at pcooper@greenwichpres.org or Paul Ruby at 703.753.1492.  A short training session is being planned to familiarize us with the snow blower.

 

Year End Contribution — Please note that we are requesting your final 2007 contributions be in the office by Sunday, December 30, 2007.  Contributions received after December 30 will be posted to the 2008 budget.  Thank you!

 

God & Me — Calling all scouts!  Greenwich will be offering the God & Me program to all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.  We’ll meet for five Sundays, starting on January 6th, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.  This is a program for your child and their parent.  While it is designed for scouts, it is open to all children.  For more information, or to register (deadline to register is Wednesday, January 2nd), contact Joy Yates at 703.754.7933 or children@greenwichpres.org.  The cost is $7.50 per child for the workbooks. 

 

Spiritual Gifts Class — In glorifying God we serve Him using the special spiritual gifts we possess.  Join us for five weeks, starting Wednesday, January 16th (dinner at 5:30, class from 6:00 to 7:00), as you discover the spiritual gifts God has given you.  For more information, contact the office at 703.754.7933 or office@greenwichpres.org.

 

Annual Report — All committees and organizations compiling a brief year-end report for inclusion in our 2007 Annual Report, can submit their reports to the church office at office@greenwichchurch.org.  The deadline for submitting the reports is January 20, 2008.  These reports will be shared at the Annual Congregational Meeting — date TBD.

 

New Members Class — Save the date!  Our next new membership class will begin on Sunday, February 17th.  If interested in attending, or for more information, contact the office at 703.754.7933 or office@greenwichpres.org.

 

Quilting — Join us at the church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 9:30am to 12:00pm to sit and sew or learn the basics of quilt making.  Contact Lisa House at bikelshouse@aol.com or 703.594.2308 for more information.

 

Chrismon Tree Skirt — Many thanks to all who contributed cross stitched blocks to this project.  Over 40 people helped create a beautiful addition to the Chrismon Tree and to the sanctuary.  Special thanks to Lisa House and Krista Meeks for their talents in creating the finished product.

 

Child Protection Training — We are offering three new dates for those wishing to go through Child Protection Training.  The dates are:  Sunday, January 6th from 6:00 to 7:30pm; Friday, January 18th from 9:30 to 11:00am; and, Wednesday, January 23rd from 7:00 to 8:30pm.  For more information, contact Joy Yates at 703.754.7933 or children@greenwichpres.org.
