Thanksgiving Adventure.

 

Over the last several years, Greenwich Church volunteers have served others less fortunate.  For many families in West Virginia, Greenwich has provided a helping hand by assisting with home repairs and improvements that otherwise would go undone. 

We can do the same this Holiday Season.

 

Join with others over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, and be a part of fulfilling the “Outward” ministry of Greenwich Church.

Parent’s Afternoon Out

 

Sunday, December 9th

12:15pm to 4:30pm

Ages Birth thru 5th Grade

 

We have lots of activities planned for the children that afternoon – they won’t want to miss out on the fun!  We will begin our afternoon by having lunch together (provided) and then we’ll be playing games, doing crafts, watching movies, having snacks and lots of fun!!!

 

Admission is FREE but pre-registration is required.

Registration deadline: December 2nd

Farthest Corners will join over 30 other artisans and crafters.  The Farthest Corners booth will be selling items made by the Burmese refugees.

NOVEMBER MISSION COLLECTION

 

SERVE is in need of the following:

 

Spaghetti Sauce/Noodles (all kinds)

 

Cleaning Supplies

 

Paper Products

(toilet tissue)

(paper towels)

(plastic wrap)

(aluminum foil)

(store plastic bags)

 

All items accepted.

These are the items that are in short

 supply this month.

 

Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship

 

Congregational Meeting — Join us on Sunday, November 18th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm in fellowship hall for a congregational meeting.  We’ll elect officers for the class of 2010, and have open conversation on the life of the church.

 

Children’s Christmas Pageant — Rehearsals for this year’s Children’s Christmas Pageant are Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:30am. 

 

Parents of All Children and Youth — The Wee Playground behind the Sunday School building has recently had damage done to the newly purchased equipment.  We invite children elementary age and under to play on the playground at any time.  However, we ask that your children be supervised by an adult at all times.  We want to ensure the safety of your children and respect for our property.  Thank you!  Questions or concerns?  Contact Joy Yates at 703.754.7933 or children@greenwichpres.org.

 

SERVE — Next Sunday we’ll collect for SERVE, our November mission partner.  SERVE is currently in need of the following:  spaghetti sauce and noodles (all kinds), cleaning supplies, and paper products (toilet tissue, paper towels, plastic wrap, aluminum foil and store plastic bags).  As always, all items are accepted. 

 

Musically Inclined?  — Do you have a special musical talent?  Do you play an instrument?  Have you sung in a choir?  We’re looking for any and all of the musically talented people at Greenwich who would like to participate in our worship services or other events.  Please contact Lon Quinones at music@greenwichpres.org or 703.754.7933. 

 

Baptism Celebration —This Sunday we celebrate the baptism of Whitney Norman, daughter of Tim and Angela Norman.

 

Thanksgiving Service — This year’s Thanksgiving Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21st at 7:00pm, at Little Zion Baptist Church on Greenville Road.  For more information, contact our office at 703.754.7933.

 

Chrismon Cross Stitch Kits — Please return all kits by Sunday, November 11th, to Carole Ferrell or Lisa House.  They can also be dropped off to the church office in the GPW mailbox.  Thanks to all who participated.

 

Parents Afternoon Out — Parents, enjoy a few hours shopping, running errands or just relaxing while we take care of your children.  This is our gift to YOU!  Sunday, December 9th, from 12:15pm to 4:30pm.  Ages Birth thru 5th grade.  Admission is FREE, but pre-registration is required.  Place the flyer enclosed in the offering plate or in Joy’s mailbox in the church office.  Questions?  Contact Joy Yates at 703.754.7933 or children@greenwichpres.org.

Mission Trip Meeting We’ll meet this Sunday from 5:00 to 6:00pm in fellowship hall.  All people interested should attend.
