Treasurer Position
The Church Treasurer is a new staff
position, developed to serve as a partner in ministry with the Session, staff,
and lay-leadership in serving the
Qualifications:
1. A vibrant and maturing faith
in Jesus Christ.
2.
Must be an active member of
3. Previous experience in
financial management or
accountancy preferred (Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks).
4.
Team-player with strong interpersonal skills, able to support the
leadership and mission of the church.
Responsibilities:
1. Administering the check
request process in coordination with
committees, staff and accounting firm
2. Reviewing financial reports
from the accounting firm and providing reports
to the Session and congregation as requested
3. Providing support for
the Stewardship committee in managing
the
budget and financial policies of the church.
Working Expectations
This is a part-time position (5-10
hours/wk) with limited office hours, primarily on Monday. Balance of
duties may be fulfilled from a home office.

Sr. Highs are invited to our Youth Baking Lock-In on Saturday, October
13th. We will meet at Jesse and Chasity’s home to bake items for our bake

Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship
Youth Group Save the Date — Our youth
retreat (Jr. and Sr. Highs) will take place October 19th to 21st at
Fall Sunday School Has Begun! Join us at 9:30am each Sunday as we begin our new year of Sunday
School! We have classes for ages, preschool through adult. We welcome you
to join us each week. Our Faith Garden Nursery and Preschool will meet
downstairs. Be sure to sign your child in and out at our welcome
desk. Children in Faith Village Sunday School (Grades K-5) will
begin each Sunday in the Gathering Room (choir room) and will then be lead to
their workshop for the morning. Parents are reminded that they will need
to pick up their children at 10:30 am at their child's classroom each

Jr. Church! We are excited
about our new KIDMO program ministering to children in grades K - 3.
KIDMO is a place where children feel welcomed, valued and cared for while they
learn who Jesus is, how to follow Him, and how basic Bible truths can
help them make right choices. Children participating in Jr. Church will
be dismissed after the children’s sermon during the 11:00 Worship
service. Parents can pick up their child(ren) in Holywood immediately

Special Music —This Sunday we welcome Sue
Ellen Kinser to the 11:00 service.
Save the Date — Flu shots are scheduled for
October 21st. More info to follow.
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper –Sunday, October 7th, we will celebrate the sacrament of the
Lord’s Supper at the 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 services.
No Jr. Church October 7th— Parents, please note that there will be no Jr. Church on
October 7th so that families can share in the celebration of
communion together. We will resume Jr. Church on Sunday, October 14th.
New Members Class — Join us on
October 7 and 14 from 6:00 to 7:30pm, and October 21 from 5:30 to 7:30, as we
explore the meaning of the Christian faith, the Presbyterian tradition and how
to become more involved with
Youth Bake Sale — Join us for our youth bake
sale on Sunday, October 14th. Funds will benefit our youth retreat and
activities.

Volunteer Opportunities — Are you fired
up to volunteer? We have opportunities in the following areas: coordinator for
Sunday greeters,
recording the 11:00 service, assisting the Worship Committee with an
advent booklet, an adult volunteer to lead a new children’s handbell choir, Jr.
Church and
Faith Village Chorale — Has
begun! We meet at 9:00am, and welcome all children grades K-5.

Angela Knight in Concert — Angela will
premiere her CD “Giubileo,” a collection of original Christian songs written by
Angela, on Sunday, October 7th, at 7:00pm at the
Manassas Community Chorale — “Thanks for the
Memories,” a tribute to 1940’s radio is being presented by the Manassas
Community Chorale on Saturday, October 6th, at 7:30pm at
Change for Life Update — The Care Net
ministry thanks you for your generous donations of over $1,400. We are
hoping that the 21 baby bottles still out will find their way to the church
