If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”   Philippians 2:1-2

Facility Planning Committee Update

Since the May 20 Congregational meeting the Facility Planning Committee (FPC) has been at work in several areas:

·            Reviewed the Ministry Planning recommendations as approved by the congregation and developed an initial summary of space needs for our building expansion.

·            Developed architect selection process and criteria, and have begun to interview a select list of architects to design our project.

·            Currently identifying local civil engineering firms to perform the site study, with plans to interview in coming weeks.

·            Considering the merits of working with a local construction manager to serve as the “owner’s representative” for our project.

·            Goal of FPC is to present recommendations to Session at September 25 meeting for the core project team, to include architect, civil engineer, and possibly construction manager.

Members of the Facility Planning Committee:   Carole Ferrell, Chris Hazel, Lisa Heckathorn, Tom Knoll, Margaret Mayhugh, Don Meeks, Josh Perrius, Rob Place, Angela Rogers, and Mike Simms.

“Unless the Lord builds the house,

its builders labor in vain.”

Psalm 127:1

Kitchen News

We have a new refrigerator in the kitchen for general church use (located between the oven and the window).  We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that any items left in the refrigerator need to be marked with name and date, otherwise these items will be regularly thrown away.  We encourage you to donate any leftover food to our participating shelters listed in the kitchen.

If you’re planning to use the kitchen let the church office know so we can put your group on the calendar.  This will help with coordinating our cleaning crew each week as they graciously work around church events.

Cooking for a large group and need help knowing how much food to purchase?  We now have a kitchen resource, “Food for Fifty,” that will help with these questions.  There are also many recipes to look at as well.  This can be checked out through the church office.

Thank you to Circle 4 for the donation of a popcorn popper!  This is open to any group that would like to use it.  If you would like to use the popper, please contact the church office for a brief orientation.  [Note: It will require cleaning after use].
