Congregational
Meeting Results
The
After 90
minutes of discussion, the question put to the congregation was: “Shall
the recommendations of the Ministry Planning Committee be incorporated into the
building plan?” With 137 votes cast, the motion carried by a count of 108
– YES and 29 – NO.
On
Tuesday, May 22, following the congregational meeting, the Session met for its
regular monthly meeting and directed the Facility Planning Committee (consisting
of members from the 2000 building committee and newly appointed members) begin
the architect selection process. Though a date was not
set, the Session anticipates a mid-summer Congregational meeting to introduce
the architect and share any other information related to the building
plans.

Opportunities
for Study, Service and Fellowship
Youth
Confirmation Class — On June
18-22, all youth (rising 6th grade and above) are invited to participate in a
confirmation class taught by Pastor Meeks. The class will begin at 10:00am
and conclude with lunch each day. To register, please contact the church

Cookbooks
Are In — If you pre-ordered a
cookbook, pick it up this Sunday. We are also selling the cookbooks for
$15 each, for those who were not able to pre-order.
Parents
of Graduating Seniors —
If you have a child that is graduating from high school or college, we would
like to recognize them and celebrate their accomplishment on June 10th.

Mission
Committee Sponsored Yard Sale —
This years yard sale will take place on Saturday, June 2nd, from 7:00am to
2:00pm in the
Mission
Table at Yard Sale — For the June
2nd Yard Sale, there will be a Mission Table for those who do not wish to
purchase a table, but would like to donate items to be sold by the Mission
Committee. The proceeds from items sold at the Mission Table will go to
Missions. Please do not donate large pieces of furniture, large appliances
or electronics. If you have items to donate, please contact Nancy Pittman
at 703.743.5314, for the church location where items should be
delivered.

Sign Up Has Started! —
Be sure to sign up your family early, adults included. You won’t want to
miss this Wild West adventure to Avalanche Ranch.
Save
the Date — A take out barbecue
dinner to benefit Farthest Corners! Saturday, June 16th, from 4:30pm until
the barbecue is gone. Join us for this special treat for
dad!

Protection Training Has Begun! — In an effort to
better protect our children, youth and church,

Protection Training Dates —
We will be offering training on Thursday, June 7th, and Wednesday, June
13th, from 7:00 to 8:15pm.

Faith
Village Chorale — Our
children’s choir will perform at the 11:00 service next Sunday, June
3rd.

Saturday Group — Join us for
an old fashioned barbecue/picnic on Saturday, June 9th, at 6:00pm. We’ll
dine at the home of our hosts, Anne and John Wood. Co-hosts are Kaki and

Senior
High Youth and Families —
Celebrate the graduating seniors on Sunday, June 10th, at the church.
We’ll gather at 4:00pm to visit and play games before dinner at 5:00pm.
Meats and dessert (cake) will be provided; please bring a side dish or salad to

Communion — Communion for the
month of June, will take place on Father’s Day, June 17th, instead of June
3rd.
Animal
Safari Music Camp— All
preschoolers (ages 3-5) are invited to join this summer music camp, June 4th to
8th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The cost is $60.00 per child, with a $10.00
