Classic Prayers of the Saints

 

 

In conjunction with the Session’s recent Call to Prayer, you are invited to join with others in studying and praying some of the classic prayers of the Christian faith.  These enduring prayers have refreshed and guided countless Christians into a closer relationship with God.

The only preparation each week will be to prepare your heart to draw closer to God.  The only homework will be to make each prayer your own.

 

Wednesday evenings

All ages are welcome!  No need to register for the class.  Come as you are, come when you can.

Childcare available each week.

 

 

 

 

 

NURSERY ATTENDANT OPENING

 

We are looking for someone to join us in the nursery as we provide care to children during worship services and other church-related events in a manner that ensures child safety, comfort and ease. Care is provided to infants, toddlers and preschoolers on Sunday mornings and at other times during the week, as needed. 

 

Bring your own children to work with you, and earn extra income while they play with their friends.

Wednesday Pastor’s Study — Join us each Wednesday at 6:00pm in the sanctuary as we study and pray some of the classic prayers of the Christian faith.  All ages are welcome!  Childcare is available each week. 

 

The Talent Show is Coming — So get your act together!  This years show will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 7:00pm.  The youth will be selling popcorn, candy and sodas (no meal).  If you’re interested in showing us your talent, please contact Beth Galbraith or Helen Taylor at 703.753.4099 or egalbraith@verizon.net.  The deadline to sign up is April 15th.

 

Praise and Worship! — The youth group is creating a praise and worship band.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Chasity Spittle at youth@greenwichpres.org or 703.753.9421.

 

Youth Group Paintball — All Jr. and Sr. Highs are invited to join us for paintball on April 29th.  We’ll depart immediately following the 11:00 service.  If you need equipment you MUST contact Chasity Spittle before April 25th at youth@greenwichpres.org or 703.753.9421.

 

Second Saturday — It’s pasta and more as we celebrate Italian Night on April 14th at 6:00pm with fabulous food, music and fellowship.  To make your reservation and tell us what you are bringing, please call either Judy Colucci at 703.754.1301 or Jeanne Edwards at 540.349.8698, by Tuesday, April 10th.  The location will be announced at a later date.  Ciao!

 

Men’s Fellowship — Please join us each Friday from 6:30am to 7:30am in Fellowship Hall for bible study and fellowship.  For more information, contact Paul Ruby at 703.753.1492.

Farthest Corners Dinner Benefit— Join us at the Inn at Vint Hill for a Thai Dinner to benefit Farthest Corners on Saturday, April 21st.  Tickets are $30 per person.  See Mike Simms, Chuck Boyd, Leslie McMillan, Charlie Coe, Lisa House, Becky Whitelock or Mike Lynn to purchase tickets.

 

Circle 5 — Please note that Circle 5 will not be meeting in April.  We will meet again in May.

 

Avalanche Ranch VBS— Join us on June 25th-29th!  Dinner will be served at 5:15pm.  The evening program starts at 6:00pm.  We need volunteers in all areas!  Please see the insert to sign up.

 

Piano/Cello Recital Reception — A big thank you to all those who helped with the reception following the piano/cello concert last Saturday!

 

Spring Workday — A big thank you to the 30 plus people who turned out to clean and beautify the church grounds!

 

Walk for Life — Jesus Loves The Children! That is the theme of this year’s Walk for Life to be held on Saturday, April 28th.  The money collected from Walk for Life will help Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers continue to provide services to those in our communities experiencing unplanned pregnancies.  For a complete Walk Brochure, see the Friendship Register.
