Christmas at Greenwich
On Sunday, December 24, we will hold one combined worship service in the morning at 10 am. (Our traditional 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 services will resume on December 31.) Join us as we gather for a service of communion, hymns and praise.
You are cordially invited to attend one of our Christmas Eve services, Sunday, December 24, 2006.
5:30 p.m.- This worship service is oriented for families with younger children, as we enjoy this year’s Christmas Pageant presented by the Faith Village Chorale. Nursery will be provided. As part of the Children's program, we are having a birthday party for baby Jesus immediately following this service. Any donations of baby gifts brought will be given to CareNet.

7:30 p.m.- This is a traditional worship service and the Chancel Choir will be singing. Nursery will be provided.
11:00 p.m.- This is a service of Christmas carols, candlelight and communion.

Our rain gutters (sanctuary, social hall and Sunday School buildings) need cleaning!
We need a team of two or more willing to help out for three or four hours.
No special skills needed.

Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship
Special Music Today —Ths Sunday we welcome our string quartet players, Katherine Bohannon, Emil Cheytanov, Tami Nelson and Heather Pollack. Also, special thanks to David Mathers at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas for loaning us the harpsichord.
Christmas Concert — The Chancel Choir, soloists, small ensembles, instrumentalists, and accompanists will perform a Christmas program during both the 8:30 and 11:00 services this Sunday.
Open House at the Meeks’ — The whole church family is invited! This Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Come when you can and leave when you must.
Youth Group at the Meeks’ — Youth will meet at the Meeks’ home this Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Bring a small wrapped gift for our white elephant exchange!
Faith Village Chorale — We will rehearse our Christmas program on Saturday, December 23rd from 10:00 to 11:00am.
Christmas Eve Services — Please note the service times for next Sunday, December 24th. The morning service will take place at 10:00am. Evening services will be held at 5:30pm, 7:30pm and 11:00pm. There will be no services on Christmas Day.
Birthday Party for Jesus — Please join us in Fellowship Hall after the 5:30pm service on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the birthday of Christ. You can bring donations of baby gifts, i.e., clothing, diapers, etc. These will be given to CareNet.
Salvation Army Toyland— If you would like to help with Angel Tree opportunities, we could use your help on December 18th-21st (distribute gifts and stockings to families). We car pool. Please call Nancy Pittman at 703.743.5314 if you can help. There is information on the bulletin board and table in Fellowship Hall.
Youth Bible Study — Our Thursday night bible study will be on vacation for the next few weeks. We’ll start up again on January 4th.
Volunteer Opportunity — Our rain gutters need cleaning! If you have 3-4 hours available to help clean the rain gutters on our sanctuary, social hall, and Sunday school building, please contact Mike Simms at 703.887.8658 or ecdm44@msn.com or Paula Cooper at 571.248.4268 or pcooper@greenwichpres.org.
Greenwich Note Cards — Need a great gift for a family member, friend or teacher? Come see the beautiful new note cards being sold by the Greenwich Presbyterian Women to benefit their Missions! There are 12 in a packet and cost $10 (black and white) or $15 (color). The cards are in Fellowship Hall. Checks should be made payable to “GPW.”
Greenwich Cookbook — Preorder your 2007 cookbook today! The cost is $15.00. Make checks payable to “Greenwich Presbyterian Church” and designate “cookbook” in the memo. We have gift cards available for your pre-order purchase!
Year End Contribution — Please note that we are requesting your final 2006 contributions be in the office by Sunday, December 31, 2006. Contributions received after December 31 will be posted to the 2007 budget. Thank you!
Prayer Chain —We have a new email address for prayer chain requests. If you have a prayer request for our prayer team, please email prayers@greenwichpres.org
Junior Church — Parents, Jr. Church is on hiatus, so that families can share the advent season together. Beginning with the New Year, Jr. Church will now be a program for children in grades K-2. Children in grades 3-5 can now participate in worship with their families. Please contact Joy Yates at joyyates@greenwichpres.org for ways your child can help out during the 11:00 service.
