Mission Opportunity!
We have been invited to join Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Madison County as they head to Mississippi on October 21 thru 28th.
David and Karen Bean (Herb and Jane Wood’s daughter and son-in-law) are leading this mission.
The cost per person is $75.
Team members will provide their own transportation.

If you are unable to make the trip, but would like to make a donation, please make the check out to Mt. Zion UMC. You can put the check in the offering plate or drop it off in the church office.
Opportunities for Study, Service and Fellowship
Fall Sunday School Has Begun! Children in Faith Village Sunday School (Grades K-6) will begin each Sunday in the Gathering Room (choir room) and will then be lead to their workshop. Parents need to pick up their children at 10:30am at their child's classroom. Questions? Contact Joy Yates at joyyates@greenwichpres.org.
No Jr. Church October 1st — Parents, please note that there will be no Jr. Church on Sunday, October 1st so that families can share in the celebration of communion together. We will resume Jr. Church on Sunday, October 8th.
Wednesday Night Pastor’s Class— Wednesday’s from 6:30 to 7:30pm in Fellowship Hall. Open to all interested in learning more about the Bible. Childcare provided. For more information, please contact Don Meeks at dmeeks@greenwichpres.org or 703.754.7933.
Adult Bible Class — Everyone is welcome! Join us at 9:30am on Sundays downstairs in Fellowship Hall (first door on the left). Our readings for this week (the October 1st class) are Nehemiah 5— Esther 7.
Youth Bible Study — Every Thursday, starting September 28th, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. All youth are welcome!
Youth Sunday School— We invite all 7th-12th graders to join us Sunday mornings at 9:30am. The Junior High Class (7th and 8th graders) and Senior High Class (9th thru 12th graders) will meet separately in their respective Sunday School rooms. Questions? Just 4 Youth — Youth Group will be held the first and third Sunday’s of every month. The Senior High hiking trip has been changed to Saturday, October 21st.
Piano Dedication —This Sunday, at all three services, we will dedicate our new Kawai grand piano, donated by the Spittle family.
Special Music Next Sunday — On October 1st, we will welcome Mike Simms and friends to lead worship at all three services!
Handbell Choir -- Handbells have started back up, and we’d love to have new members! Rehearsals are Wednesday nights, 6:00 to 7:15 pm. For more information, please contact Holleyanne McDaniel at holleyanne@yahoo.com or 703.496.3114.
There's a place for YOU in the Chancel Choir! We welcome new members into the Chancel Choir this fall. We rehearse from 7:30-8:30pm on Wednesday evenings and sing at the 11:00 service. Come join the choir!
Faith Village Chorale — We have exciting plans this fall! Practices are Sunday 9:00am. Children in grades K-6th are invited!
Congratulations! — Congratulations to Mark and Karen Blocker upon the birth of their son, Matthew Bennett, on Wednesday, September 20th! Matthew joins brother Jacob.

Thursday Morning Playgroup — Are you looking for something to do on Thursday mornings with your young children? Join other moms in the church for a playgroup at 10:00am. Calling All Cooks! — Circle 4 is putting together a new Greenwich Presbyterian Cookbook and we need your recipes! Greenwich is full of great cooks — women and men. Please put your recipes in the basket across from the office door. They need to be typed or very neatly handwritten. If there’s a story behind the recipe you can add that, too. You can also email your recipe to Susan Boyd at boydplum@msn.com.
Women of Faith 2007 Conference — Reservations are filling fast for the 2007 “Amazing Freedom” Women of Faith Conference, July 13-14, 2007, at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The cost is $129.00 for Friday 9:00am-9:00pm (with a mid-day break) and Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm. Seven of our 12 tickets remain available. We have three hotel rooms reserved which hold four women each, and the hotel fees will be approximately $51.00 per person. Ten women from Greenwich Church attended the 2006 “Contagious Joy” Conference and we were filled with joy, inspiration and praise for our God! To reserve your ticket, please send a $50.00 check as a deposit or full payment of $180 to Pam Lynn at 11065 Manley Road, Nokesville, VA 20181, by October 31, 2006. Questions?
