Ash Wednesday Dinner & Service— Ash Wednesday, March 1, marks the beginning of the season of Lent. The Lenten season is traditionally observed as a time of personal reflection and self-examination. This seven-week season is intended to prepare us to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord during Holy Week. On Ash Wednesday, we will have supper at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall followed by a service of worship at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary.

 

Eagle Scout Court of Honor— Please join us in celebrating the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Jonathon Boswell today,  February 19 at 2:00pm.  A reception will be held in the Social Hall immediately following the ceremony,  Janet Ruby at 703.753.1492.

 

All youth are invited to attend Jonathan Boswell’s Eagle Scout court of Honor at 2:00pm today. Come support one of our youth at this ceremony recognizing and celebrating his diligent work toward this accomplishment.

 

Adult Membership Class— Begins Sunday, February 19 and continues February 26 and March 5, 6:00-7:30pm.  The class will explore the basics of the Christian faith and the Presbyterian heritage through our Covenant of Membership.  March 5th we conclude with a dinner & conversation with our Elders. Childcare is available.

 

You are Invited!SERVE Restaurant Day, Monday, February 27 at Red Hot & Blue in Manassas, 11:00-8:00pm. SERVE receives 15% of the profits from diners. You will need the flyer found in Sunday’s bulletin to take with you.

 

Summer Mission Trip July 22-28Greenwich Presbyterian Church Mission Committee is excited to announce a mission to West Virginia for adults & high school youth. Mark your calendars and begin prayerfully discerning if God is calling you to take part.

 

Gratitude—The family of Minnie McMichael wishes to express their gratitude for all the love and care shown to Minnie and to her family during Minnie’s passing and especially during the year previous to that as she struggled through the loss of her beloved husband, various illnesses, and 2 operations for a broken hip. You helped us every step of the way. You are truly one in Christ. God bless you.

 

VBS Volunteer Kick-off Luncheon on Sunday, February 26 at 12:30 pmYou are invited to join us as we begin planning for a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School ... Caribbean Style. Seeking Volunteers from the Congregation to assist with our Annual Easter Egg Hunt-  This year, we will hold our Easter Egg Hunt on April 8th, the Saturday before Palm Sunday!  We need several volunteers to help plan this event. Please contact Joy Yates gpcjoyyates@comcast.net  or 703-754-7933 for more details.

 

Committee Night - All Church Committee Night is Tuesday, February 21, 7:00 pm.  We welcome members & friends of the church to explore the joy of serving together.

 

Deacon’s Meeting – The next meeting is Thursday, March 2 at 7:00 pm.

Food Mission Collection— Please note the food collection scheduled for the snow day last week will be collected Sunday, February 19. Thank you for your participation.

 

Women’s Weekly Bible Study – Fridays, 10:00-11:30am at the home of Trish Ruckle. The study is “I am with You Always, Experiencing God in Times of Need” by Chip Ingram. Please contact Trish at 703.753.0232 for more information.

 

Wednesday Night Pastor’s ClassWednesday evenings, 6:30-7:30pm, Fellowship Hall. Open to all interested in learning more about the Bible. Childcare provided.  

 

“Change for Life” -  Thank you for participating in Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center’s “Change for Life” opportunity. As your bottle are filled, please follow the instructions which were inside your baby bottle, return bottle (filled or empty) to Pam Lynn or the Church Office by Sunday, February 26, 2006.

 

Preschool Registration—The Preschool is taking registrations for the 2006-2007 school year. Children must be potty trained and 3 years of age by Sept. 30, 2006.
