Epiphany Service  Tonight at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary

 

Congratulations!  -  Congratulations to Stephen and Shamaine upon the birth of their daughter, Katherine Joan King, on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 9:30pm! Proud sisters are Madeleine and Michal.

Women’s Weekly Bible Study – Starting Friday, January 20, 10:00-11:30am at the home of Trish Ruckle. The study is “I am with You Always, Experiencing God in Times of Need” by Chip Ingram, focusing on Psalms 73, 23, 139, 77, 46, 51 and 90 and relating them to Jesus’ teaching in the New Testament. Please contact Trish at 703.753.0232 to register and request books and child care.

Second Saturday Group  - Come and chase away the January chills at Chili Night with the 2nd Saturday Group. We will meet in Fellowship Hall on January 14, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. Cost will be $3.00 per person. Come to the Valentine’s Party!.  On Saturday, February 11th Greenwich will again host Mary’s Family and this time the Social Hall will be transformed into a dance hall for their annual Valentine’s Day party.  Come join the fun.  Mary’s Family is an organization which provide provides respite care for families with children and adolescence that have disabilities.   To join the party and help out at a worthy cause, call Charlie Coe at 703-393-9384 or ccoe119@comcast.net   We need YOU to celebrate!

 

Wednesday Night Pastor’s Class—Wednesday, January 18, 6:30-7:30pm, Fellowship Hall. Open to all interested in learning more about the Bible. Childcare provided. We hope to increase our understanding of God’s Word to live more faithfully as followers of Jesus Christ, and to get to know others in the church family. The first topic: an Overview of the Bible—the major themes of the Old and New Testaments. We are encouraged to read  30 Days to Understanding the Bible by Max Anders, available ($11.55) at the first class. gpcdonmeeks@comcast.net or 703-754-7933.  

 

Note! - Child care is available on Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:30pm, for the Bible Class and for the Chancel Choir. Please contact the church for questions at 703.754.7933.

 

Commitment Sunday - The Session has approved a  $498,051 operating budget for 2006 as proposed by the Stewardship Committee.  Commitment Sunday will be January 29, when as members and friends of the church we will prayerfully make our pledge to support the work of the church for 2006.
